Our home compostable bags are made in New Zealand from layers of certified AS5810 home compostable film. Our bags are designed to be as ocean-friendly as possible, using plant-based sources such as sustainably grown eucalyptus trees to make the biofilm.

Our home compostable bags will break down in an ambient home compost environment. The bags are made from films that are certified by OK COMPOST, OK COMPOST HOME, OK Biodegradable Soil certified by Vincotte in the European Union, and Compostable and AS5810 Home Compostable by ABA Australian Bioplastics Association.

Tip: We recommend trimming them up before adding them to your compost bin to assist the process.

We generally say 12 weeks to break down but it really is dependent on the compost bin and the heat.
